Maria Gracia Gervasi

Welcome to the Gervasi Lab

At the Gervasi Lab, we investigate the molecular mechanisms activated during sperm capacitation and their impact on early embryo development. Using mouse and bovine models, we aim to unravel the paternal contributions that influence embryogenesis. By integrating advanced methodologies—such as RNA sequencing, high-resolution imaging, and targeted gene manipulation—we seek to uncover key biological processes that can drive innovation in Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART). Our ultimate goals are to improve ART outcomes, advance treatments for human infertility, optimize livestock reproduction, support the conservation of endangered species, and enhance our understanding of the causes of infertility.
